Sometimes people say; "You've got to be kidding".

I have never owned a cell phone and my home phone is still pluged in to the wall.
I thought it would be fun to have a retro phone so I tossed the cordless.

I was a stay at home mom until my kids were grown. I sometimes wonder how we managed.
I loved being a mom.

One of our children came to us at the age of three due to my sisters drug addiction.
She is a married mommy of a darling little boy.

We have lived in this house for 27 years and have no air conditioning. I should say we have no central heating and air. We do have one wall unit that we use on the most miserable of days. Built in the 50s our house is cold in the winter and hot in the summer.
I love this old place.

Other than a bathroom remodel, we have done all our own work on "this old house".
I married a handy project man 33 years ago.

Our house has a crazy floor plan. Originally a two bedroom (with the bedrooms connecting) our children have grown up with very little privacy. It was sort of dormatory style around here.
We are a close family.

Most of our married life we have been a one car family. I ride my bike to work and to the post office and to the library.
It's good for me.

I don't have a garbage disposal.
Composting is good for my garden.

I live in town with five chickens, two dogs, three cats and a bunny.
I'm an urban farmer.

Haven't seen too much of the big, big world. I live in the same town where I was born.
I have "old" friends.

I love Pottery Barn style. I have a "make it work" attitude and I don't mind a little hard work so I decorate and re-decorate and enjoy the process.
I love a good garage sale or estate sale.

  2. Sounds like a good life to me. Being happy with what you have and not focusing on what you don't is a sign of contentment.
